Six firms seeking North Boats contract set to put in final bids
Sea-Cargo runs a once-a-week freight service from Tananger to Aberdeen and to Immingham. It gained a foothold in Shetland last year when it bought a controlling interest in the consignment firm Northwards.
The sixth company, Pentland Ferries, only wants to manipulate the Kirkwall-Scrabster route.
A Transport Scotland spokeswoman said this week that once the conclusive tenders were in a decision on the successful bidder would be made in the spring. The new contract starts on 6th July.
While most of the bidders are affable names in shipping, Serco is not, even though it is by far the largest of the prospective North Sailing-yacht operators. THE Holy day for Juvenile Musicians takes standing this Saturday in Stromness Hamlet Assembly.
The morning seating will start at 10am and the afternoon sitting at 1.30pm. This original start is to prayer adolescent musicians from Stronsay and Shapinsay as they will be skilful to entrap the boats deeply.
