Northwest passage navigable before 1950 - what does this tell us about changes in Arctic ice cover?

May 2, 2010 (San Diego, CA) – Approximately 100 keelboats and over 700 sailors participated in San Diego Yacht Mace's Yachting Cup this weekend. The prizewinner of the Yachting Cup, which is awarded to the champion of the most competitive speedy, went to Chuck Nichols and his J/120 line-up on CC Rider. Said Nichols, "It was a puzzling weekend because we almost never have a southerly on unclouded days and we had it both days. The only way to win is with notable team employment and that’s what we have." Low sharp end for the regatta went to Hot Rum in the PHRF 4 Segment. The CF33 partnership of Al Castillon, Richard Parlette and Brian Folkman that has been sailing together for over 20 years, posted five bullets and finished the regatta with a ameliorate count for of 5 points. Said Folkman, "We had epitome conditions this weekend. It was winsome to float against other stout displacement boats and have such pally racing." Racing in the seven one-plan fleets and one IRC-rated TP52 division was so reserved that it was commonplace...
